Enjoying the Journey

Reese’s New Zone of Fun

Some of you will recall when I posted not too long ago about these wonderful plastic gates that a friend gave us and we proceeded to use to create an enclosed play area for Reese.
Reese PlayZone

Well, Reese has grown up quite a bit as babies tend to do. And it’s been awhile now that she has refused to be locked up in there, even though we added the rest of the gate links and made the pen as big as possible. She screams and crys until either Mark or I sit in there with her or take her out. Our house is getting more and more baby proof but just when I think we are fully babyproofed, she gets into something I didn’t think she could. Little smartie-pants:).

So we have basically been using the gates to guard the bookshelf and Cibo’s dog dish and one of the kitchen doors. Our baby is growing up, and she needed a better play zone more suited to her almost-toddler needs…

Welcome to Reese’s New Zone of Fun!

Grandma Mac found this for us on Freecyle and we thought it would be the perfect way to make our no-so-kid-friendly backyard a little more fun for the babe. Now we string the gates around the patio and let Reese have at it. She still isn’t great at climbing the stairs all the time, but she loves to go down the slide by herself (of course I am always 2 inches away holding my breath and worrying that she is going to split her head open…). I’m so excited that we have someplace fun for her to play right in our backyard, and it was free!

I have a feeling we are going to be spending many summer afternoons out here.:)
